Welcome to Kasane, Chobe, the confluence of two mighty rivers – Chobe River and the Zambezi. Did you know this is also where four African countries meet? Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Check-in with welcome drink. During your stay you can enjoy 3 game drives (shared), 1 Chobe Sunset boat cruise (shared) and 1 private boat cruise or fishing (2 hours).

Chobe’s wildlife can be experienced from two very different perspectives - on a game drive or a Chobe River cruise.

Day 2: Today you will explore Chobe National Park, this time from a game drive perspective during your morning and afternoon game drives which are done on a shared vehicle basis. Private vehicle on request as an optional add-on.

Day 3: Fishing or private boat cruise. Brunch. Afternoon game drive

Day 4: Morning at leisure – time to pack and enjoy a hearty brunch before road transfer to Kasane airport.

Okavango Delta Experience – 3nights at Rra/Mma Dinare; Private Okavango concession

Fully guided with private guide and private activities & vehicle, accommodated in family unit on a fully inclusive basis.

INCLUSIONS:  Full board, accommodation, drinks, activities, complimentary young explorer kit with safari souvenirs for the kids, laundry, charter flights and private vehicle as listed in itemized costs. Both of these camps operate in stunning, wildlife- rich private and exclusive concession area.  The experience is more focused on the 4x4 game drives which is often the highlight of Family Safaris.  In our private concessions, we enjoy greater flexibility with activity timings: Game drives as the sun rises and sets, allowing for guests the chance to find shyer and more nocturnal species; sensitive off-roading when tracking exciting and unusual species.  Both camps offer seasonal water and walking activities in addition to the game drives as water levels and conditions permit.  Mokoros and game walks can be enjoyed by parents while their children are cared for one of our attentive staff.

RRA DINARE/MMA DINARE: Offers private game drives at no extra cost allowing for even greater exclusivity. Times of the activities will be scheduled to suit each family individually. Private dinner at camp with flexible times for meals. Wildlife highlights: Lion, wild dog, cheetah, leopard, aardwolf, roan and sable antelope, Buffalo, Elephant, plains game and very varied birdlife

Day 5: Scenic light aircraft transfer from Kasane to Rra Dinare/ Mma Dinare (approx. 1hr30min). Meet & Greet by your safari guide at airstrip and app. 45min.game drive to the camps & security briefing with welcome drink by camp manager. Time to unpack and settle into your family tent. Before /during /after afternoon tea your guide will cover your safari itinerary and activities and present the children with their young explorer kit. Naturally there is opportunity to change activities on a daily basis depending on your preference.

Activities on offer are morning, afternoon and night game drives. For safety reasons only children aged 12 and over can go on mokoros and game walks which tend to be up to 2 hours. So that parents and children can get the most out of their safari and wilderness experience, during these activities, guiding is done in a fun participatory and easy to understand way introducing the children to animal identification, tracking and birding & animal calls. For the mini-tracking ‘expedition’ the guide will drive the family to an open and secure area to look for tracks and birds and compare them to their explorer booklets. The content of the explorer kit will vary depending on availability of the items but will include some of the following items: sling bag, lunch box & water bottle, activity book, explorer check-list, note pad and coloring pencils. Back in the camp the children can use their newly-found knowledge when completing their activity books and bush quiz with their guide and/or parents.  For younger children, parents can request an early dinner option before they depart on their afternoon activity.

The guide will probably suggest a game drive as the evening activity, which will be done in a private vehicle in Dinare’s private concession returning in time for a tasty 3-course dinner (choice of 2 main courses) which is usually served around 19.30/20.00 hrs. After dinner the guide walks family to their tent. NB on safety: All guests get walked to and from their tents from sunset onwards as the camp is unfenced and no guests are permitted to walk alone in the camp at night.

Day 6: Early morning wake-up call, Light breakfast, Morning game drive; Brunch; time to relax and enjoy refreshing swim in the pool or some armchair game viewing from your tent deck using your activity books and check-lists.   Afternoon game drive will follow after a lazy siesta in the afternoon. After dinner to avoid forgetting something, best to start with main packing.

Day 7: Morning at leisure – enjoy a hearty brunch before your flight to Maun airport!

Should need be accommodation in Maun can be arranged with our reservations office.
